Marugame Kasuri Orimono is a weaving company founded in the early Meiji period that has produced Kurume kasuri in Hirokawa Town, Fukuoka, for five generations. It manages all processes in-house—from yarn dyeing and weaving to sewing and sales—developing products that combine traditional craftsmanship with colors and designs suited to contemporary sensibilities.

In addition to fabric wholesale, the company also produces and sells its own apparel and other finished products. It actively explores original patterns and expressions, conveying the appeal of Kurume kasuri to a wide range of generations by integrating tradition with new designs and applications.

Reimagining Kurume Kasuri Through Integrated Craftsmanship

We are committed to preserving the tradition of Kurume kasuri while expanding its expression into forms suited to the present day. By engaging in every process—from dyeing and weaving to sewing—we seek to bring out the full potential of the material and pursue new colors, patterns, and textures.

We also aim to deliver kasuri not only as fabric, but as products to be worn and enjoyed in everyday life. Rooted in tradition yet not bound by convention, we continue to create new possibilities for kasuri through free-thinking ideas and solid craftsmanship.
